Encrypted in transit and at rest — the database holds no plaintext. On iOS you can switch any single conversation to end-to-end encryption, and the server relays ciphertext it cannot read.

What is Macchiato?

Does it run my agents?
No. Agents stay on your machine with your keys. Macchiato connects to them and keeps the conversations.
How do I connect an agent?
Install the open-source connector next to the agent, pair with a QR code from the app. No inbound ports. Then control that agent from the iOS app or the web app — same sessions.
Can I build my own connector?
Yes. Connectors are open source, and the public guide covers Link B pairing for agents outside the four built-ins.
Where is history stored?
Synced to Macchiato so it is searchable across devices. Encrypted in transit and at rest. Not sold, not used for ads, not used to train models.
